This product is designed specifically for use with the Algo 8196 (sold separately, not included). For expanded coverage, up to three Algo 1196 satellite speakers may be connected to an 8196 speaker sharing the available 16W of audio power. The Algo 1196 Satellite speaker when used with the Algo 8196 IP PoE+ Horn Speaker can provide significant savings when combined using up to three (3) 1196 satellite speakers. Satellite speakers are connected to the 8196 in a daisy chain fashion using CAT5/CAT6 standard patch cables (wired directly to each other through a daisy chain only, not through network). Each 1196 Satellite Speaker attached is detected by the 8196 IP Speaker automatically and can be monitored for connectivity. The number of attached satellite speakers is displayed in the 8196 web GUI and also visible in the 8300 Supervision Controller, if deployed, sold separately. Identical in appearance and acoustical output to the 8196 IP speaker, the satellite speakers can provide ambient noise response based on the 8196 microphone noise detection and by default automatically adopt the zone and volume settings of the 8196 speaker. The installer should be familiar with configuration and programming of Voice over IP devices via web-based graphical user interface or provisioning. Requires Power over Ethernet. If PoE is not available, use PoE Injector. Controller must be installed indoors, door station is indoor/outdoor rated. A basic understanding of computer networking and Voice over IP experience is required. See manufacturer's website for specifications, new features, and required firmware updates.
